Description


The course will address the impact and consequences of developmental disabilities and related disorders on the psychological functioning of families - parents, siblings, grandparents, and other extended family members. It will also include a focus on the sociological and public policy implications of disability for society. Families of children with disabilities have a broad range of experiences. This course will explore the positive and negative aspects of raising a child with developmental disabilities through lecture, media, and whole class and small group discussion and activities.
